Ingrediënten:
- 8 mooie Elstars
- 8 lollystokjes
- 1½ dl stroop
- 1½ dl kristalsuiker
- 150 g basterdsuiker
- bakpapier
- 11/2 dl slagroom
- 1 theel zout
- 75 ml water
- 3 eetl boter en extra om in te vetten
Bereidingswijze
Verwijder de steeltjes van de appel en vervang ze door de lollystokjes.
Vet een stuk bakpapier dun in met wat boter.
Doe de stroop, alle suiker, de slagroom, het zout en het water in een bredesauspan met dikke bodem. Breng het mengsel aan de kook en blijf roeren tot ereen goudbruine karamelkleur ontstaat. Haal de pan meteen van het vuur, zodra desuiker kleur krijgt.
Klop in de pan de boter door de karamel.
Werk nu snel zolang de karamel nog heet is: draai de appels door het mengselzodat ze aan alle kanten even dik bedekt zijn. Laat de overtollige karamel in depan teruglopen. Leg de appels op het bakpapier om af te koelen.
