Wij Nederlanders kunnen niet zonder brood. Een dag zonder brood met boter en hagelslag, pindakaas, jam, kaas of een lekkere warme kroket, is voor velen van ons een dag niet geleefd. We eten het als ontbijt, tussen de lunch en soms zelfs bij het avondeten. Het duurt waarschijnlijk niet heel lang meer voordat brood aan het lijstje met cultureel erfgoed wordt toegevoegd. En dan heb je ook nog een groep Nederlanders die ervoor kiest om zelf hun eigen brood te bakken. Gewoon in de oven of in een speciale broodbakmachine. Wil jij ook zelf brood bakken? Het gemak van een broodmix

Een kant-en-klare broodmix brengt een stukje gemak met zich mee. Alle droge ingrediënten die je nodig hebt voor het maken van een lekker brood zitten in de juiste verhouding in deze mix. Het enige wat je zelf vaak nog moet toevoegen zijn het water en de gist. Soms moet je naast water en gist ook nog andere ingrediënten toevoegen, denk bijvoorbeeld aan gewelde krenten en rozijnen wanneer je een krentenbrood wilt maken. Het grootste voordeel van een broodmix zit hem in het feit dat je veel minder hoeft af te wegen en daardoor ook minder kans hebt op weegfouten.

De nadelen van een broodmix

Het gegeven dat een broodmix bestaat uit ingrediënten in een vaste verhouding, brengt echter ook een nadeel met zich mee. Daar waar je bij het zelf afwegen van de ingrediënten kunt experimenteren met de verhoudingen, kun je dat bij een kant-en-klare mix niet. De verhoudingen staan vast. Tevens ben je voor een broodmix vaak meer kwijt dan wanneer je alle ingrediënten los zou kopen (al blijf je bij een mix dan weer niet onnodig met ingrediënten zitten die je de komende tijd toch niet meer nodig hebt).
